Machine learning toolkit lets biologists navigate their way through a 3D cell

The new Allen Cell Structure Segmenter combines classic image segmentation with artificial intelligence to detect cellular structures. Github repositories for both aspects of the open source toolkit are available, along with a video tutorial and sample data for the classic segmentation workflow.

BioImage Informatics 2019

Together with the Allen Institute for Brain Science, we are co-hosting BioImage Informatics 2019 October 2-4 at the Allen Institute. This conference will explore processing, analysis and extraction of information and knowledge from biomedical images. Abstract submission for poster presentations is now open until August 7, 2019.

3D Visualization Workshop

The Allen Institute for Cell Science is also hosting a pre-conference workshop ahead of BioImage Informatics on October 1, “3D Quantitative Visualization of Fluorescently Labeled Cells.” This hands-on workshop is intended for biologists who want to learn ways to access, view, and interrogate 3D fluorescence microscopy data.
